I hold a firm belief that it’s only when we have developed a true understanding of the effects of yoga on our own body, mind and spirit, that we can then effectively share these practices with others. A yoga teaching certificate is only the beginning: it takes many years of  practice and dedication before being  able to effectively teach yoga to others: we are all still learning.

" I have been a yoga student since I was introduced to it in the '70s when I was working as a mountain guide in Cumbria. Yoga was then very new to Western society and very different from the yoga of today. Although I practiced yoga for many years, I did so superficially and without commitment.  I only discovered the true nature of Yoga when I started to use it as a healing art. The calming effects of the breath within the practice led to a desire to reach beyond the physical practice of asana (postures) and pranayama (breath) to study the deeper philosophical roots of Yoga. 
As a Reiki Master Practitioner and Holistic therapist, I have been further inspired to integrate knowledge from ancient systems of energy and healing body work into my classes. I have a broad knowledge of science, anatomy and the bio-mechanics of the body, which helps me to understand and empathize with the physical limitations of my students. Most importantly, I continue to study and learn so my teaching evolves.
Having worked and studied globally I have amassed a wealth of experience, and with my own unique approach to teaching I can guide students through the many different ways of practicing yoga which will help maintain their well-being in an increasingly stressful society.
My classes are taught in a way that allows each individual student to work at their own level. The dedicated student, with consistent and regular practice, will be rewarded with greater mobility throughout the whole of the body and into later life."
